In the early morning hours of April 2007 a songwriter / music executive, Palo Cara (aka Paul Frantzich) had a dream. In the dream artists of all levels of prominence joined in an online community to position the joy of music against global starvation and malnutrition. Imagine Facebook meets iTunes meets Ticketmaster for a cause. It was called Feed Them With Music.com and a portion of every dollar (amount determined by the artists) generated by music downloads, live concert ticket sales, and live web-feeds, delivered a meal to a brother or sister in need. Palo awoke from the dream and wrote it down. He began talking about it and created a website that shouts the Feed Them With Music (FTWM) vision and mission.
As the founding artist he began performing and delivering meals with profits. Amazingly, but not surprisingly, the idea of using a portion of every dollar to deliver a meal to the hungry doubled CD sales, doubled audience size and fed thousands. Road Trip: American Singer Songwriters was the first project created by FTWM in the summer of 2008 featuring Arlo Guthrie, Gary Louris, Meg Hutchinson, Lucy Kaplansky, The Brothers Frantzich, Peter Mayer, The Pines, Alison Rae, Storyhill, and HEM. Road Trip: Solo Piano featured the music of Benny Weinbeck. Still available at CDbaby.com.
